About Greg

Service

Greg has dedicated the past eight years to serving the Town of Lincoln as Ward 4 Councillor, guided by a commitment to responsible decision-making, fiscal accountability, and ensuring residents have a voice in shaping their community.

From 2022 to 2024, he chaired the Budget Committee, helping guide responsible financial planning and municipal budgeting. Greg served as Deputy Mayor in 2024 and returns to that role from July through September 2026. He also currently serves on the Niagara Road 12 Landfill Citizens Liaison Committee.

Through his time on Council, Greg has focused on listening, building relationships and finding practical solutions that reflect the needs of Lincoln's residents today while planning responsibly for future generations.

Community Involvement

Giving back has always been an important part of Greg's life. He believes strong communities are built when neighbours support one another, volunteer their time, and invest in the success of future generations.

For more than 25 years Greg has coached youth athletics across Lincoln, Niagara, Hamilton, and Western New York. Holding NCCP certifications in Archery, Baseball, Hockey, Ringette, and Softball, he has helped young people develop confidence, teamwork, discipline and leadership skills both on and off the field.

Beyond athletics, Greg has actively supported organizations serving vulnerable members of the community, including Community Care of West Niagara, Camp Crossroads, Mennonite Disaster Service, Gillian's Place, Southridge Shelter, and the Southridge Caribbean Worker Support Program. His commitment to community service reflects a belief that a strong and caring community creates opportunities for everyone to succeed.

Family

Greg was born and raised in Jordan Station and attended Beamsville District Secondary School. He later settled in Beamsville, where he owned and operated a construction business alongside his father, Walter, for 27 years. Lincoln is not only where he grew up - it is where he chose to build his life, raise his family, and invest in the community he calls home.

Greg and his wife, Bev, raised their three children in Lincoln and are now proud grandparents — “Grammy and Pa” — to three grandchildren who also call Lincoln home. Greg's family's deep roots in the community continue to shape his perspective and his commitment to protecting Lincoln's unique character and quality of life as he plans for future generations.

Professional Career

Greg's connection to Lincoln's agricultural, greenhouse and business communities began early. He spent his childhood summers working at Edgewood Orchards in Jordan Station and learned firsthand the value of hard work, responsibility and community relationships.

During High School, Greg began working alongside his father in the family business, Reimer Excavating Ltd. For 27 years, he owned and operated the company, serving farmers, builders, and small businesses throughout Lincoln and the Niagara Region.

In 2016, Greg amalgamated his company with O'Hara Trucking and Excavating. Today, he serves as a Construction Project Manager with Alfred Beam Excavating, where he continues to work closely with many of the same families and businesses he has supported for decades.

His professional experience has given him a practical understanding of the challenges facing residents, farmers, business and property owners, as well as an appreciation for the importance of responsible growth, sound infrastructure and long-term planning.
